Check out my new Video for Awbury Visions
Dahi Divine aka Sleepy Dah is exploding onto the urban music scene as musician, writer, composer, rapper, and producer expanding the boundaries of music for his generation. Divine is better known as a dynamic tenor saxophonist, prolific composer and jazz bandleader that paid his dues working in the New York City jazz scene. He performed on the horn line of the Dave Matthews Band during the Grammys, Rihanna at the MTV Video Music Awards and Solange Knowles at the Guggenheim.
Now, his latest project and first under his new contract with Ingrooves Music Publishing is a new single titled “Awbury Visions”. Divine states, “My purpose with Awbury Visions was to make music that I composed and to create the visuals around the project. So, I created the artwork and directed and edited the video as well. Awbury Visions is a full composition. It has an introduction, it has parts, it has sections, a full form, an altro, vamps and all these different aspects that are in compositions. Yet, it’s a hip-hop track. So, I made a hip-hop composition.” The music video for Awbury Visions is scheduled for release in June 2018.
Divine’s discography includes his new single plus the July 2017 release of his first hip-hop project titled, “Soundsmith” which featured the popular single “Sway My Way”. The next month he followed that up with his second hip-hop epk release, “Soulful Stoner”. During April 2015 Divine released and received critical acclaim for “The Element”, a modern jazz album and his recording debut as a leader. The Element includes all-original, straight-ahead compositions. The following month he completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Jazz Studies at The New School For Jazz & Contemporary Music.
Currently, Divine is creating and releasing new music, performing and pursuing his Master’s degree in Jazz Performance at Temple University in his hometown Philadelphia.
